So we decided to go to The Curve for a change.
My sister heard of this place called Johnny Rockets where the entire layout was like a diner in the olden times,
WHO WOULD WANT TO MISS THE CHANCE TO TRY THAT OUT?!
So we made our way to Johnny Rockets - The Original Burger :P
True enough, its layout was like those diners, they even had a JUKEBOX! :O
So they opened at 11am and we made it there quite early and had put our names on the waiting list.
They opened the "diner" with a dance. ALL THE STAFF DANCED. TO A SONG. FROM THE JUKEBOX.
It was a good start, I must say. A good way to get the customers all excited to try out the food!
They then started seating hungry customers who were on the waiting list, chronologically.
We were number 13. After we heard the person before us being called, we waited for our turn. And waited. And waited. For half and hour.
The worst part was that there were STILL empty seats. And sure enough, customers started complaining. They explained that this was their way of quality control because they are not a fast food restaurant, but half an hour.
How did we know though, that we waited half an hour? Oh, they had a very good clock! Another performance was given at half hour intervals. Again, that was a good feature of theirs, but the least they could do was seat the people first. Instead of entertaining the crowd (they probably were entertaining the already seated ones but not the ones waiting), they should just fill up their booths first.
So after the wait, we were finally seated. But because we were waiting in line for quite a while, we already decided what we wanted to eat.
Sis and I decided to share a milkshake and I decided to order their Bacon Cheddar burger.
Again. Guess how long we waited for the food? Another half an hour. We watched another energetic performance from the staff and even though it was a catchy tune and dance, it was starting to get on the nerves.
LUCKILY, the milkshake was DELICIOUS. There was just something about this milkshake that was really good, and it brought the excitement back up as we waited for the food.
*Do note however, even though the service time was really slow, the service that the waiters give are really good. They were really friendly and were constantly smiling and helpful.
And my Bacon Cheddar Burger came not long after the milkshake! It was like a "Finally!! Can't wait to try!" moment. The waiter also drew a smiley face with ketchup on a dish for us to eat with our fries! :) Things were looking much better at this moment.
I bit into it, it was good, but not as good as I thought.
My opinion was that it was just a normal burger, and honestly for the price I was paying, it wasn't worth it. BurgerLab was probably more worth it. They did have something I have not tried in a burger before though, they used potato buns.
The ratings I would give is:
Service: 8/10 (the waiting time took points away)
Food: 6/10
Price: 4/10
Overall: 6/10
It's not a place that I would frequently go to, but maybe once in a LONG while. If you have not tried it though, at least give it a shot. The experience of the staff dancing and the environment is something to look forward to!
You can find them at: G52, The Street, The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.
